It is interesting to note that small clay oil- burning lamps are used in Christmas Celebrations in India. South Indian Christians place these lamps on the roof tops and walls of their homes as Hindus celebrate Diwali. Northwest Indians narrate the story of Christmas through special carols. Mumbai is recognized as the dwelling place of a large number of Roman Catholic communities and they put up beautiful interpretations of nativity scene and huge crowd visit the show and the performance is appreciated as a great work of art.

It would be very wrong to conclude that Christmas is not a popular festival in Asian countries. It is obvious that India with its over 26 million Christian population will celebrate Christmas in grand style.
