In order to boost up the spirit of the sick during this season of joy and merry making hospitals in Japan are decorated with trees and children sing songs or put up plays related to the birth of the Lord Jesus for the sick. Children trade paper birds of peace with the young generation in order to highlight the fact that a war will not take place. The Japanese children generally refer to Santa Claus as “Santa Kurohsu”.
