As this is the summertime the people of New Zealand like to spend their holidays in the beaches along with their family. The Christmas eve celebrated with the Christmas Carols and candlelight concerts.
English colonists brought traditions of Christmas along with them of the late 18th Century in New Zealand. The Christmas celebration in New Zealand starts with traditional Christmas dinner which comprises of turkey-roast with vegetables and sauces and sometimes there is plum pudding often served with cold salads.
But without Pavlova (made of whipped egg whites and sugar cooked slowly in low-heated oven and then garnished with fruit and whipped cream) the Christmas celebration in New Zealand cannot be imagined. Like America and Britain, New Zealand also has a Santa Claus or Father Christmas who distributes gifts among children.
