A Midnight Mass is celebrated in the Christmas Eve Church right at midnight on the Eve of Christmas. Midnight Mass is celebrated conventionally in most of the Catholic churches all over the world. Few churches commence their Midnight Mass at 7 o’clock in the evening, the practice being started only one or two years back. Early in the evening many Catholic churches also organize candle lighting services by all congregants. In Christmas Eve Church, performances of the Nativity scenes by the indigenous people and children are also arranged.
Same types of services of worship, related solely to the worship of our Savior Lord Jesus are being organized on the Eve of Christmas in several Protestant churches.
