Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve Party

Christmas is one of the most loved and popular festivals in the entire world. People all over the world celebrate Christmas in their own way, some in deep devotion, some by spending quiet time with family and some by having a Christmas Eve party. Christmas is a joyous time and generally everyone is in a great mood in this holiday season. The message and holiday cheer that Christmas brings to us melts through the coldest winters and seeps into our hearts.

Charles Dickens has managed to beautifully describe this special and magical festival of Christmas - “I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys.”

There are many kinds of Christmas Eve parties in this generation. In the earlier times a Christmas Eve party for most people was held at home and was a celebration of the birth of Christ. This kind of a Christmas Eve party was all about family, food and festivity. In today's day Christmas Eve parties are held on a larger scale with party organizers, party entrance charges and most of these parties are held at clubs or discotheques. Such elaborate Christmas Eve parties charge a grand sum of money as an entrance fee and entertain their guests with popular music, great food and drinks.

However many people do not prefer to celebrate Christmas Eve in such a manner so they go for more low key Christmas Eve celebrations. Millions of Catholics all over the world attend midnight mass at the night of Christmas Eve on the 24th of December.

They pray and welcome the arrival of Christmas Day. Traditional Christmas feasts are something which is synonymous with any kind of Christmas Eve celebration.
