Christmas in Clouds

Christmas in the Clouds (2005) is a part soulful comedy and part crazy, also dealing with an important historical aspect. The film is a Majestic Films production and directed and written by Kate Montgomery. Christmas in the Clouds is a historical extravaganza about Native American yuppies. After a lot of movies made on American Indians this movie shows them in a positive light.

The story revolves around an Indian-owned ski resort. Joe Clouds on Fire (Sam Vlahos) and Tina Pisati (MariAna Tosca), New York based professionals who meet on an online dating service. Joe was not honest about his age to Tina. He is 30 years older than Tina. Joe has a son Ray Clouds on Fire (Tim Vahle) who is the manager of the resort. Meanwhile, the resort is expecting an inspection from a representative of an important travel guide.

For this, the reservation manager of the hotel Mary (Sheila Tousey) is keeping her eye on everybody who is checking in. She misunderstands Tina as the representative and gives her a luxury corner suite. On the other hand, Stu O'Malley (M. Emmet Walsh), a crabby-untidy man, who is the actual critic is not at all looked after and gets a budget room.

Tina is gradually falling for Ray but Ray is not giving her the chance to be close as he thinks her to be the representative. The chef Earl (Graham Greene) wants to become a vegetarian and is consistently trying to discourage the customer not to have meat. The old Joe has dreams of winning a Jeep Cherokee. He participates in a bingo tournament where Grumpy old O'Malley is also participating. They both end up in the Cherokee. Misunderstandings keep piling up in Christmas in the Clouds. Of course, all misunderstandings get solved in the end.

Christmas in the Clouds a perfect holiday movie ozzing with affection and warmth. All the characters are just apt for their role. The writer-director, Kate Montgomery did not try to make a huge drama or a sensational movie but a cheerful movie reflecting the festive mood.
