The story revolves around a family of parents Mr. and Mrs. Little ( Hugh Laurie and Geena Davis) and a son George ( Jonathan Lipnicki) who has no body to play. Mr. And Mrs. Little decides to adopt a child. So, one day they come to a orphanage to find out their new family. There they fall in love with Stuart. They like his charming, insightful, unselfish character. Despite the warnings of 'inter-species' adoption, they bring Stuart Little home. Stuart is very happy to get a family of his own. But George is disappointed as he thinks that a mouse can not be his playmate. So George refused Stuart to accept him as his brother. But Stuart is most hatred by the another family member of Littles – Snowbell (voiced by Nathan Lane), the Cat. Snowbell was so jealous of him that he plots to get rid of Stuart.

Stuart manages to win George's heart, after he helps George to make a toy boat and also show his courage and loyalty in a boat race in Central Park. But he still feels an emptiness inside, and wonders about his birth parents. Then two mice came to Little's place and claim Stuart as his birth parents. After leaving Littles Stuart realizes that the Littles are his real family. And he also came to know that The two mice are fake. Now he wants to come back.
