Mexican Christmas traditions are very different from American Christmas traditions even though it is a part of America. In fact their Christmas traditions of Mexico resemble something like the Italian Christmas traditions. Mexican Christmas traditions are rich and varied and they have been followed by the people of Mexico for hundreds of years.
Another unique Mexican Christmas tradition is that Christmas gifts are received by children only after the 6th of January. This day is auspicious as it is believed to be the day when baby Jesus received his gifts from the three Wise Men. Mexico has the longest Christmas celebrations in the world as they start from the 12th of December and go on till the 6th of January. The 12th of December is auspicious as it is a celebration of the birth of La Guadalupana also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe.
